My, What Big Eyes You Have!
Amid great anticipation for horror remake The Wolf Man, starring Benicio Del Toro and Sir Anthony Hopkins, a small assemblage of cast and crew made its way to the 2008 San Diego Comic Con to expound on the newly spun lycanthropic yarn. On a panel to promote the film, which hits theaters on April 3, 2009, lead actor Del Toro fielded questions alongside all-world make-up man Rick Baker, who adds yet another impressive feat to his horror oeuvre. This recycled tale of elegant Victorian horror is directed by Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III), penned by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en, Sleepy Hollow), and co-stars the stunning English ingénue Emily Blunt, as well as Hugo Weaving, Geraldine Chaplin, Kiran Shah, Art Malik, Michael Cronin and Cristina Contes. Come check out the video inside!
Freshly dredged from the annals of the aforementioned SDCC (courtesy of IGN), here is the in depth interview with legendary make-up/special effects pioneer; the 6-time Oscar winning Rick Baker (American Werewolf in London, Men in Black). With nearly 60 film and TV credits spanning roughly 35 years, Baker has contributed to some of the most prescient and well known films over that time, working with the likes of Carpenter, Hooper, Cronenberg, Dante, Landis, Burton, Jackson, G. Del Toro and Craven. Here he sits down to discuss a bit of his prior work, as well as the nuts and bolts of his latest foray into the world of gothic horror. Enjoy!

I'm super pumped for The Wolf Man movie. Werewolf movies also rule. American Werewolf in London, The Howling, the original The Wolf Man, Dog Soldiers, hell even Wolf with Jack Nicholson was entertaining... well, maybe not that last film but I'm still excited to see Benicio as the wolf man. Btw, is there any relation between Benicio del Toro and Guillermo del Toro? Anyone know?
Benicio Del Toro + Sir Anthony Hopkins + Rick Baker + werewolves = win!
Director Joe Johnston may have made the turd JPIII, but keep in mind that he also did Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
@goreobsessed:
Dunno for sure, but I don't think so. I can't find anything that says the two are related.
