NEWS: Horror Books Adapted to Movies

Apr. 3 11:47 AM by Eater of Entrails

With Scott Smith's horror novel The Ruins, a tale about a group of American vacationers who stumble upon something truly horrifying within the Mayan Ruins, making the jump to film, The Deadbolt has compiled their own list of 5 Other Horror Adaptations They Want to See. The feature explains why these particular films would translate well to film.

In a genre that's bloated with everything Steven King blasts out of his overrated buttcheeks, it's nice to see other worthy works in horror fiction being made into movies (such as The Ruins), and The Deadbolt's picks for what deserves to be adapted to film are pretty damn good. My only addition would be Brian Keene's extremely satisfying zombie book The Rising and it's sequel City of the Dead.

You can read the feature here.

Those are all good picks on that list of theirs. Even though I haven't read any of those horror books, based on the descriptions of them they seem like they'd make interesting films. I'd add World War Z too as a great horror book that should be opted for film adaptation. Maybe Michael Bay could direct?
