If you've never seen Ruggero Deodato's infamous exploitation horror film Cannibal Holocaust, it's regarded, even to this day, as one of the controversial movies ever made, horror or otherwise. So contentious was the film, which features a woman being savagely raped with a big pointy rock, a real giant turtle being gutted (along with a slew of other animals actually being slaughtered) and many other memorable scenes, that when it was released in 1980 the director was arrested because authorities believed that the film's numerous atrocities were authentic. If you're a fan of horror, you really owe it to yourself to see Cannibal Holocaust so you can catch up for the sequel which has just been announced. That's right--Cannibal-fucking-Holocaust 2 (officially titled "Ruggero Deadato's Cannibals") is one the way
Someone pinch me because I must be dreaming.
News of Cannibal Holocaust 2 originally broke when Deodato was on the set of Hostel: Part II for his cameo as the cannibal who is briefly shown in one of the torture rooms slicing a hunk of leg flesh off a victim for his dinner. Although the details about the upcoming horror sequel are scarce at the moment, there are a couple of things we know so far:
- Imagination Films (Kaw, Decoys, The Hamiltons, The Zombie Diaries) is releasing the movie.
- Ruggero Deadato has stated that absolutely no animal killings will occur in the new film.
- As the film's poster implies, the vast majority of the film will not take place in a jungle but in a metropolitan area.
- Pierre David, who produced The Brood, Videodrome, Wishmaster, The Dentist, and numerous other horror projects is set as executive producer for the film.
- Cannibals is slated for release in 2009.

i heard that this is gonna make Hostel look like sesame (is this spelled right?) street
F*ck beans, I think I just wetted myself a bit. I CANNOT WAIT!
whaaaaa?
This movie is going to rock so hard...
Didnt the origional the majority take place in new york city and they were just watching tapes of what happened? That might be cannibal feroxii get the two mixed up because they are so similar. Either way this some brutal news it will be awesome if its half as hardcore as the origional but i hope it blows the origional away.
I sure hope so.
You're right. A good chunk of Cannibal Holocaust does take place in the city. So does Cannibal Ferox too. I'm with you too, can't wait to see what'll happen in this one!

Hell yes it is. I dunno why, but I can't get enough of Cannibal films. On top of Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox, I recommend Cannibal Apocalypse (which stars John Saxon who played Nancy's dad who was a cop) and Ravenous (one of the best cannibal films ever).
Ah! You just made my day!
I dunno if i can watch this one...I've only seen Cannibal Ferox and I decided I don't want to see another one after that. Sorry, not much for excessive gore :( It does sound interesting though. I keep trying to figure out who the cannibals are going to be since it has moved to the city... a cult, rich elite, crazed natives, the Amish? I guess I'll just have to wait and find out...
I love how they used the impaled woman from the original Cannibal Holocaust as the "I" in for this film's title.
I was wondering about the cannibals to monkeyfish it could be the guys who recovered the film from the cannibals or maybe watching the footage drove someone crazy and into cannibalism
Oh, dear lord, YES. I can't believe this is actually getting made. It's either going to completely amaze me or completely disappoint me. This poster is awesome, so I can only hope the movie will be, too.
