VIDEO: Chinese Mummies in "The Mummy 3"

May. 22 2:19 PM by Eater of Entrails

The trailer for the third installment in The Mummy trilogy, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, is now available. One of the most striking details about the new film which can be witnessed in this clip is the fact that the story is no longer set in Egypt but China where Qin Emperor played by Jet Li has been brought back from the dead along with his mummified hordes to battle Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraiser) and his posse of explorers. From watching this 2 minute trailer, it also seems as though The Mummy 3 will definitely focus even more on action than previous installments in the series. Hopefully, Tomb of the Dragon will be closer in quality to the original movie in the series than The Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King. Time will tell.

But c'mon. Chinese mummies? Are they serious?

Well it looks better than Fraiser's other new movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth...I'm not into the total CGI look. This movie at least looks action packed :P

The first time I heard about this movie with Chinese mummies and Jet Li I couldn't believe my ears. After seeing this trailer though, it doesn't look half bad. Nothing beats the original The Mummy with Boris Karloff.

Chinese mummies exist. Check out the wikipedia article on mummies and their link to the China Daily article.

That said, this looks a little wacky. But I agree with monkeyfish -- not nearly as bad as JttCotE.
