NEWS: Megan Fox Semi-Nude in "Jennifer's Body"

May. 13 1:28 PM by Eater_of_Entrails

Several revealing photographs of Megan Fox on the set of the upcoming horror movie Jennifer's Body have surfaced on the internet. In the batch of behind the scenes photos which can be viewed on thebadandugly.com, the semi-nude Fox appears sopping wet on a dock in the film where she plays a demonically possessed cheerleader who goes on a killing spree. Hopefully it's nothing like the 1987 horror cheese Cheerleader Camp.

Thank Beelzebub, our eyes have seen the glory of a topless, dripping wet Megan Fox!

NEWS: First Glimpse at Cannibal Holocaust 2!

May. 6 3:35 PM by Eater_of_Entrails

If you've never seen Ruggero Deodato's infamous exploitation horror film Cannibal Holocaust, it's regarded, even to this day, as one of the controversial movies ever made, horror or otherwise. So contentious was the film, which features a woman being savagely raped with a big pointy rock, a real giant turtle being gutted (along with a slew of other animals actually being slaughtered) and many other memorable scenes, that when it was released in 1980 the director was arrested because authorities believed that the film's numerous atrocities were authentic. If you're a fan of horror, you really owe it to yourself to see Cannibal Holocaust so you can catch up for the sequel which has just been announced. That's right--Cannibal-fucking-Holocaust 2 (officially titled "Ruggero Deadato's Cannibals") is one the way

Someone pinch me because I must be dreaming.

Frog Baby's Underrated Pick of the Month: Crawlspace

Apr. 30 7:40 PM by Frog_Baby

Damn, I've Seen Better Faces On a Hemorrhoid!

Damn, I've Seen Better Faces On a Hemorrhoid!

My underrated selection for the month of April goes to David Schmoeller's (Puppet Master, Tourist Trap) 1986 film, Crawlspace. Starring the brilliantly menacing Klaus Kinski as Karl Gunther; the son of a Nazi surgeon and superintendent of a tattered apartment building which seems to inhabit only women, the film is a legitimate low budget chiller. You see, he not only rents exclusively to young pretty girls, Gunther has festooned his complex with a batch of odd booby traps and hidden passage ways that all connect to the tunneling inside the heating shafts, or crawlspaces. He worms his way through, voyeuristically leering through tightly slatted peek-holes and narrow vent shafts at his female tenants. He likes to watch them undress. He likes to watch them live. Oh, and of course he likes to watch them die!

NEWS: The Evolution & RETURN of 3-D Horror!

Apr. 28 3:46 PM by Blood_Bather

Mr. Voorhees Hacks His Way Right Into Your Living Room

Mr. Voorhees Hacks His Way Right Into Your Living Room in Friday the 13th part 3

3-D film projection has long offered an amorphous film viewing experience. Constantly adapting and reinventing over the course of its long-lived inception in the early 20th century, three dimensional movie making has come along way, often redefined in accordance with the most cutting edge technology. From the golden age of the 1950s, to the 1980s renaissance, to the turn-of-the-century diarrhetic flood of straight-to-video excrement, to the enormous and recent animated blockbusters, the format has endured it all. However, one thing has remained a constant throughout; 3-D has always been a horror/sci-fi film darling. And now IT'S BACK!

On the docket for newly minted theatrical 3-D horror is a tentative list of development deals, some further along than others:

NEWS: Eli Roth Making New Movie for Kids

Apr. 25 10:33 AM by Eater_of_Entrails

Reuters reports that horror director Eli Roth, known for his tremendously grisly films Cabin Fever and the Hostel series is making "a movie that 13-year-old kids can see." Although the exact film project Roth is working on has yet to be revealed, he notes that it'll be in the vein of Transformers and Cloverfield, also confirming that his upcoming family-friendly movie will indeed be rated PG-13.

The director goes on to explain his departure from the horror genre saying "I feel like I pushed the violence in R movies about as far as I can push it. I feel like I'm bled out. I wanna switch it up." The article doesn't mention anywhere whether or not Eli Roth is still planning on adapting Steven King's recent zombie novel Cell, but it's a bit discouraging due to the fact that he has been relatively silent about the film since announcing it two years ago.

Final Word:Roth has taken a lot of heat over the last couple of years, mainly in the form of the media criticizing his work bashing it as nothing more than "torture porn," which is complete horse shit. Perhaps he's grown weary of people attacking his films for no reason other than their abundance of gore. Whether his change in direction truly stems from any real reason, fans of Roth's previous films shouldn't worry too much because... hey, horror directors often make deviations. Remember, Romero made crap like Knightriders (the one about medieval jousters on motorcycles). Carpenter made Memoirs of an Invisible Man. Just let Roth get it out of his system and hope that he'll return with Cell, Trailer Trash, and Hostel III (a guy can dream, right?).

Foreign Fear Fridays: Jose Mojica Marins

Apr. 18 3:37 PM by Blood_Bather

In a fresh segment to post every third Friday of the month that we're calling Foreign Fear Fridays, OMGHorror is going to pay tribute to some of the more unheralded horror filmmakers who span the globe. With such a wide world of horror out there, our aim is to lend recognition to those who are as big in their native land as Craven, Carpenter, Romero and the like, are here in the United States. Every month we'll focus on one filmmaker, and a corresponding film of theirs, offering insight that goes beyond mere plot points and vague overview. Our selections will not be limited to the living or confined to one certain decade; we will be honoring all walks of filmmakers, past and present.

In our inaugural entry to Foreign Fear Friday, we're taking a look at Jose Mojica Marins. Hailing from Sao Paolo, Brazil, Marins has the twisted mind responsible for the 40 year plus on going character of Coffin Joe (Ze Do Caixao), a gothic grave digger who roams burial grounds in search of his perfect bride. Originated in 1964, the recurring undertaker has appeared in at least seven films, with an eighth on the way, most to all of which written/directed/produced by Marins himself. Most notorious for the Coffin Joe Trilogy, stretching from 1964 to 1968, Jose Mojica Marins is one of the true horror auteurs, never compromising his own vision despite what audiences and critics have to say. This guy's seriously odd, the elongated fingernails his character wears in the films, are NOT fake. But then again, we wouldn't expect anything less from a horror aficionado born on Friday the 13th.

Evil Dead 4 and Evil Dead Remake: Everything We Know to Date

Apr. 17 3:19 PM by Eater_of_Entrails

We're not going to spray you with bullshit--in truth, there's not a massive amount of information available about Evil Dead IV and The Evil Dead remake, but there is some, and rather than trying to sift through the numerous forum threads, interviews, and news posts yourself, we've compiled everything you need to know about the two projects.

The Evil Dead (2009)

  • A remake of the first film in the tremendously popular Evil Dead trilogy was announced several years ago, and ever since, those involved in the new project (including director Sam Raimi himself) have issued fairly ambiguous answers on whether or not The Evil Dead remake is still on. It's more than likely that the new film is still coming and has just been put on hold.

True Horror: Columbian Chainsaw Massacre

Apr. 14 3:11 PM by Eater_of_Entrails

Leatherface and his brutal series of chainsaw murders may be fiction, but there was a man who butchered countless humans by sticking a chainsaw through them (no, we're not talking about Ed Gein, the serial killer whom Leatherface is based on and who never actually killed with a chainsaw).

His name was Carlos Castaño, founder of a ruthless Columbian paramilitary group and murderer of hundreds of peasants and Marxist-sympathizers, many of whom were slaughtered with chainsaws. Castaño, who was known as the most feared man in all of Columbia, began his campaign of bloodshed after his kidnapped father was killed by Marxist rebels in 1981. Even though the $7,000 ransom fee was paid, his father was still executed, giving birth to a lunatic with a taste for ravaging humans with a motorized saw. Castaño's monstrousness rivaled even that of Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface.

One of Carlos Castaño's most heinous chainsaw attacks was during the Mapiripán Massacre of '97, where he and his men used chainsaws to slice off civilians' heads and limbs, and even used the tool to disembowel them. Castaño, who was also known for trafficking large shipments of cocaine, was eventually slain by his brother's second lieutenant in 2006.
